After four years with a band (1993 - 1997), relationships were wearing thin and a painful truth had reared its head: this project - this band - is going nowhere. The difficult decision to shut it down, leave friends behind and go for it solo had to be made.

In the year 1998, something even bigger happened: Grandpa Frank died. I understood grief and loss for the first time in my life. Conversely, I was in a relationship at the time experiencing love in a new and heightened way. Emotions were running high and in all directions.

New Clothes was my solo acoustic debut. After recording it in 1998, it had to wait in the can until January 2000 for release. Take what you can gather from the above to heart. This album is very personal. It is an exploration of the self, a memory of falling in love and a tribute to a loved one.
